In the occasion of the 15th founding anniversary of the Zuellig Family Foundation, UPV and eight other academic partners were recognized for their significant contribution in the health leadership and governance programs across all the regions of the Philippines.

UPV, in particular, started its academic partnership in 2014 as the youngest of all the academic institutions. After almost a decade, UPV, through the UPV Foundation, Inc.,  has trained almost 70% of all the Western Visayas municipal local government units on health leadership and governance. These included mayors, municipal/ city health, planning, social welfare, and disaster management officers across Panay, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental.

The UPV team is headed by Dr. Philip Ian P. Padilla with an interdisciplinary team composed of Drs. Alice Prieto-Carolino, Rey Carlo Gonzales, Johnrev Guilaran, and  Professors Josephine Firmase, Melanie Sartorio, and Mr. Alex Porras.

The recognition ceremony was held in Bayview Park Hotel, Manila last 26-27 July as part of the learning session for academic partners. ZFF was represented by its chair, Prof. Ernesto Garilao, and its president, former DILG Usec. Austere Panadero.
