A professor emeritus and faculty members from UP Visayas were named winners in the 2018 in the different categories of the Palanca Awards for Literature 2018.
Dr. Mary Jane Amar of the Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP Visayas (UPV) presented a paper at the World Aquaculture Society (AQUA 2018) meeting on August 25-29, 2018 at Montpellier, France.
Amar, University Researcher and Scientist I, presented a paper entitled "Endogenous probionts improve survival and immunity in Black Tiger Shrimp Penaeus monodon." This was presented under the Antimicrobials, Prebiotics, and Probiotics conference session.
Institute of Fisheries Policy and Development Studies (IFPDS) of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences in cooperation with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) conducted a training-workshop on Fisheries Science Management on June 25-26, 2018 at the Graduate and Continuing Education Building, UP Visayas UPV, Iloilo City campus.
Prof. Martin Genodepa of the Division of Humanities and UPV Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development presented a paper titled “General Education: The Vehicle for Safeguarding ICH in Tertiary Education in the Philippines” in the 2018 International Forum Unlocking the Potential of Tertiary Education for Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding in Somerset Palace Hotel Seoul, South Korea on July 17, 2018.
