The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) recently conducted a Career Talk for graduating students of the College of Management (CM) at the UPV Iloilo City Campus on March 19, 2025.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Extension Facility in Antique together with the Department of Public Works and Highways and the local government unit of Antique held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion and operationalization of the facility last March 10, 2025 at Brgy. Nauring, Pandan, Antique. This was graced by Sen. Loren Legarda, the local government of Antique and the UPV Community, headed by Chancellor Clement C. Camposano, PhD.

In line with their continuous commitment to fact-checking, members of the UP Visayas iWrite attended Agence France-Presse’s (AFP) virtual workshop, supported by Tsek.ph, last March 1 and 8 of this year.

Dr. Alice Joan G. Ferrer, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) and Executive Director of the National Consortium for Small-Scale Fisheries Research and Development or Too-Big-To-Ignore (TBTI) Philippines based at UPV, was one of the invited panelists of the Honiara Summit on the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14.4 in Honiara, Solomon Islands, from 24-27 February 2025. The summit was organized by the Government of the Solomon Islands and the Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA), in close collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for the Ocean.

Professors from the Yokohama National University (YNU), Japan, visited the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) last March 6, 2025. Dr. Takayuki Suzuki, Professor, and Dr. Hiroto Higa, Associate Professor, both from the Estuaries & Coastal Engineering Laboratory in the Civil Engineering Department at YNU, took part in a series of activities at UPV.
