The UP Hamili-Hamilia collaborated with WVSU-MAARAM and WVSU Asian Medical Student's Association to organize the conduct of a medical mission to the Ati Indigenous Community of Brgy. Matag-ub, Janiuay on March 8, 2025.
The event is in coordination with the Iloilo City Integrated Leo Club, Iloilo City Integrated Lions Club, MJF WVSU- College of Dentistry Student Council, and PICPA Iloilo.
A total of 40 volunteers from the above-mentioned organizations assisted in the delivery of medical, dental, and care services to the community of 48 households.
An estimated 200 Ati beneficiaries availed of free check up from WVSU AMSA, medicines, snacks, and goodies for the children from various donations.
Sixty sanitary care packs were distributed to Ati women by UP Hamili - Hamilia in celebration of Women’s Day. This is to honor the women of the Ati community who give more of themselves to their family and community. Snacks were also given for the whole community and lunch for volunteers.
The members of the WVSU Dentistry Council gave a short talk on proper toothbrushing, while the Philippine Dental Association - Iloilo-Chapter provided free dental kits to the beneficiaries.
The event was also made possible in coordination with Community Chieftain Onyok Magbanua, Brgy. Matag-ub Officials led by Brgy. Capt. Banini Bandada, Barangay Health Workers, the Janiuay Municipal IPMR, as well as the generous support of other partner organizations and donors. (Source: UP Hamili-Hamilia)
