The University of the Philippines Pandananon (UPP), together with the Office of Pandan, Antique Vice Mayor Raymund Nonato Gumboc, organized a weekend market to highlight Pandan’s artisanal foods and other products on September 13, 2020, 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the Liberman Sports Center in the at the said municipality. Twenty-four sellers offering a variety of artisanal foods and handicrafts made from bariw and coconut shells, as well as plants for plant enthusiasts and collectors, displayed their wares in the weekend market. Notable among those being offered were two of the town’s famous delicacies – binabak (a viand made from coconut and freshwater shrimp) and molido (a dessert made from coconut and sweet potato).
COVID-19 has disrupted the lives of people all over the world. UP Visayas experienced the same fate as the rest of the country is waging a battle of unparalleled proportion against a virus, never before experienced by the modern world. Despite this, UPV never wavered and met the challenges of the pandemic head-on. The UPV community stood up and fended for one another.
The Office of Student Affairs held the first-ever remote Orientation in the face of the new normal. Amidst the challenges brought by the pandemic, UPV still holds true to its virtue that “nobody should be left behind.” Despite the growing pains, this activity was conducted to ensure that the newest members of the UPV family, along with their parents, are given the necessary information about the university.

A Bachelor of Arts major in Literature-History leads the graduates of the College of Arts and Sciences at the end of Academic Year 2019-2020.
“Graduating as valedictorian this year seems to be anticlimactic due to the pandemic, nevertheless it is still a blessing for me to receive this distinction. It is quite sad for me since we were not able to march this year and celebrate with our families and friends. As we will be joining the graduation rites of our friends who are graduating next year, I am hopeful that things will be better by then.
