Two books were received by the UP Visayas University Library from the Philippine Army on 05 October 2022. 

Five graduates of the University of the Philippines Visayas presented their public health and psychology research papers at the 11th Ateneo Center for Asian Studies International Conference on Asian Studies (ACAS ICAS) on Friday, November 18, 2022. 

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) hosted the UP System’s Quality Assurance (QA) Committee and Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) meetings at the UPV Iloilo City campus on Nov. 7 and 8, respectively. 

The University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) will implement a new Democratized Admission Policy starting in Academic Year (AY) 2023-2024, based on a memorandum released by the Office of the Chancellor dated Oct. 25, 2022. 

The All UP Workers Union-Iloilo Chapter conducted a training-workshop on the UP Merit Selection Plan (MSP): Implementing Guidelines and Best Practices on 16 November 2022, at the Graduate Program Audio-Visual Room, UPV Iloilo City Campus. Attended by the officers of the Union and the Union Representative Committee (URC), the training-workshop aimed to equip members, especially the newly recruited URCs with extensive knowledge and understanding of the implementing guidelines of the UP MSP for Administrative Personnel.

Dr. Philip Ian Padilla, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, along with Professors Josephine Firmase, Melanie Sartorio, and Alexander Porras, served as facilitators in the Policy Workshop for 11 Local Government Units (LGUs) in the province of Iloilo. The workshop, conducted on 9-11 November 2022, was supported by World Health Organization (WHO).

The University of the Philippines Visayas College of Arts and Sciences (UPV CAS), together with its partners, launched various initiatives for small-scale fisheries (SSF) during a program held at the Little Theatre, UPV Iloilo City campus, on Nov. 21. 

Four years in the making – the University of the Philippines System Board of Regents approved the institutionalization of the UP Visayas’ Regional Research Center during the 1375th BOR Meeting held last November 10, 2022, at the Quezon Hall, UP Diliman. 

The Training of Trainers on the use of Noncommunicable (NCD) diseases flipchart was introduced to barangay health workers (BHWs) and health professionals in Capiz and Aklan provinces. Forty-three BHWs and health professionals, including nurses and midwives, attended the Training of Trainers, which aims to capacitate them in the NCD training rollout in their respective municipalities or barangays.
