Prof. Tomasito Talledo finished his teaching career, which spanned over 40 years, on a high note through a retirement lecture held at the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Little Theatre, Iloilo City campus, last December.
Effective 01 January 2024, the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) will welcome an all-female lineup of Vice Chancellors after the UP Board of Regents gave the approval during its 1385th meeting held last 30 November 2023 at the UP Los Baños Office of the Chancellor Conference Room in Laguna. Taking their posts as Vice Chancellors are Dr. Alice Joan G. Ferrer (Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs), Prof. Encarnacion Emilia S. Yap (Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension), and Dr. Farisal U. Bagsit (Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration).
Despite the hectic schedule of the UPV community as it prepares for the Lantern Parade on Dec 20, 2023, the faculty and students having exams, and personnel rushing to finish various reports, closing of cash advances and the likes, the Christmas Fun Run pushed through on December 15, 2023 at the UPV covered court.
As a part of the 2023 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week Celebration, several professors and staff from the University of the Philippines Visayas School of Technology (UPV SOTECH) participated and got certified for the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Course held on November 25-26, 2023, at the Iloilo Convention Center and Department of Science and Technology VI, La Paz, Iloilo City.
