Outstanding educators from various DepEd schools and higher education institutions (HEIs) gathered at the Philippine Science High School on November 30, 2024, for the 3rd Teaching Excellence Forum, organized by the Metrobank Foundation-Network of Outstanding Teachers and Educators (NOTED)-Iloilo Chapter in partnership with the Philippine Science High School.
The event brought together some of the brightest minds in education to exchange ideas and best practices. Among the main highlights was a talk by Prof. Dominique J. Maquiran, a 2013 Metrobank Outstanding Teacher awardee and Vice President of the NOTED-Iloilo Chapter.
Prof. Maquiran, a faculty member of the Division of Professional Education, delivered a profound lecture titled Above All Things, Let Us Be Human: The Humanizing Pedagogies in the New Order. The lecture delved into the intersections of honor, excellence, and service in modern teaching practices.
He emphasized the importance of practicing equity and inclusivity in education amidst evolving societal challenges.
The forum, now in its third year, continues to serve as a platform for celebrating teaching excellence and sharing innovative strategies in education. This event included an information campaign to prospective nominees about the 2025 Outstanding Filipinos (Teacher Award) by the Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (With sources from Prof. Dominique Maquiran)
