Returning on the court after 2019, the UPV tennis Team emerged triumphantly at the 2024 Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) VI Sports Festival. The team garnered a gold medal in the women's singles and two bronze medals in the men's singles and men's doubles, respectively.
Maria Petrina Abigail S. Aguirre, BS Biology 1, claimed the gold in the women’s singles. She dominated in each of her matches and expectedly emerged as champion. Her performance demonstrated her exceptional talent which gained her the recognition of being one of the top players of the tournament.
Dhian Dah Richter V. Nillama, BS Food Technology 1, bagged the bronze in the men's singles. This win attested to his exceptional skill and perseverance in the entire competition. Meanwhile, the duo of Levi Jann V. Miranda, BA Political Science 3, and Kurt Matthew A. Amodia, BS Computer Science 4, won another bronze medal in the men's doubles. Their synergy and athleticism on the court proved crucial in their successful performance.
Guided by their coach, Prof. Francis Dimzon, the team’s impressive performance at the tournament is a testament to the indispensability of hard work, preparation, and receptiveness in sports competitions.
