Mylen Quinanahan Piosca, a graduate of the BS in Public Health program of the College of Arts and Sciences at UP Visayas, placed 10th in the recently concluded Licensure Examination for Teachers (Secondary Level).

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) is a Game Changer Awardee of the 2022 Capacity Development Awards for Catalysts of Excellence (CapDev ACE) Accelerator Awards, spearheaded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Local Government Academy. The Game Changer Award is a national level recognition of a completed program or project initiated by an institutional partner that has left a lasting impact on LGUs and has contributed to the achievement of the DILG program outcome areas. 

Through the Auxiliary Services Office (ASO), UP Visayas was able to raise funds for a Christmas gift pack for 180 agency-hired personnel of the university (104 agency guards and 76 janitors). The gift packs contain a spaghetti pack, canton noodles, and candies. For years now they have been receiving 3-in-1 coffee through fund drives and the gift pack this year is a departure from the usual tradition. 

Cheers, music, colorful lights, and superb performances gave life to the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Miagao campus as faculty, staff, and students celebrated the most festive events of the year – the Lantern Parade and the Christmas program – on Dec. 16.

Faculty members, researchers, and students from UP Visayas (UPV) participated and won awards in the recently concluded 10th International Fisheries Symposium (IFS) and ASEAN Fisheries Education Network (ASEAN-FEN) in Vietnam.

The staff of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) converged for the Symposium and Fellowship for Non-teaching Personnel held at the UPV Covered Court, Miagao campus, on Dec. 13.
