Agency-based janitors and guards receive gift pack

One hundred eighty-six (186) agency-based personnel comprised of 98 security guards and 88 janitors received a Christmas gift pack from the UPV administration, which were distributed on December 20, 2023 during a simple ceremony at the new administration building lobby.

Vice-Chancellor for Administration Johh Lorenz Belanio expressed his appreciation to the janitors for always ensuring the cleanliness of the campus and their invaluable assistance not just during the day-to-day operations of UPV but also during special events. He also thanked and commended the security guards for making the campus secure, and maintaining peace and order therein 24/7.

The giving of gift packs started with the giving of coffee packs for the security guards which was initiated by Prof. Gilma Tayo, retired faculty member of the Division of Biological Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences. This was continued by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Administration and somewhere along the way, the janitorial personnel were also included. The tasks of putting together the gift pack for the guards and janitors, including asking for donations were eventually delegated to the Auxiliary Services Office.

The UPV administration sincerely conveys its heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the donors that made this year’s gift-pack giving possible. These donors are Mr. Romer Aguja, COA Regional VI Office; Validus Amecitia; Marla Abelarlo Luzzi; and Sinfronio Balderama. Luzzi and Balderama are US-based donors who coursed their donations through Prof. Pepito Fernandez, Jr.
