Faculty members of the Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS-IA) provided technical assistance towards sustainable milkfish industry in Zamboanga del Norte province.
The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) is again hosting scholars from the Philippine Science High School–Western Visayas Campus (PSHS-WVC), popularly known as Pisay, in a Science Immersion Program (SIP) to learn and gain experience in aquaculture and post-harvest fisheries.
Dr. Angel Encarnacion, Regional Director of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-2 under the Department of Agriculture, and Stephen Carlo Areño, Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Mathematics summa cum laude, gave their respective messages to student-awardees during the Papuri 2023.
For weeks, rain has been coming down hard all over the city and province of Iloilo, but on July 20, 2023, UP Visayas’ 44th Commencement Exercises was graced with sunny weather. As the graduates lined up for the processional, along with the faculty members and officials of UP Visayas and the University of the Philippines system, you can feel the palpable energy and excitement in the air.
