The Cultural Mapping of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental Project (CMPG) kicked off its first regional conference with insightful discussions and vibrant cultural showcases at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel last October 23-25, 2024.

The Government Procurement Policy Board - Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO) is hosted a three-day 2024 Procurement Summit themed ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ ๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ from October 22-23, 2024 at the GPPB-TSO Building, Commonwealth Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City. The Summit provided participants from the business sector, national government agencies, local government units, and state universities and colleges with a variety of activities.

Aimed to enable the younger generation of journalists to be the voices leading to an informed society, the Humanities Division of the University of the Philippines Visayas, together with iWrite, conducted the first part of their โTingog Mo, Tingog Ko: A capacity-building workshop series on journalismโ last October 24 and 25 at the Miagao Interactive Learning Center, UPV.

The first day of the "Kaangtanan: Celebrating Intersections across Western Visayas" Project Conference was filled with insightful discussions, inspiring sessions, and colorful cultural performances. The event was helt at Grandxing Imperial Hotel on Ocotber 23, 2024. The day began with a warm welcome to participants by Chancellor Camposano of UPV, followed by a keynote address from Senator Loren Legarda, who emphasized the importance of cultural mapping in preserving our national identity. The conference also included a dragon dance performance by Hua Siong College of Iloilo, highlighting the region's deep cultural heritage and its connection to the Chinese community.

Representatives from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations were welcomed by the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) last October 18, 2024. The group visited the different research facilities of the University for potential research collaborations.
