The Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras Project launched the official website of the Cultural Mapping of Panay in Guimaras at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel to cap the three-day conference titled "๐๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ง: ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฌ, ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐๐ฌ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐๐๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐" on October 25, 2024.
Probably the first website in the country dedicated to cultural mapping, this initiative showcases the rich cultural heritage of the regions across Iloilo, Antique, Capiz, Aklan, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental. Also launched on the same date was the teaser for the CMPG Documentary Film Production.
As the cultural mapping team continues to refine the website, they are excited to share their ongoing work and invite everyone to explore this rich cultural tapestry. The rich cultural tapestry can be accessed at the website link www.cmpg.online.
The website features the following:
โข Interactive Cultural Map: to explore cultural markers across the region with detailed information on each marker. Along with features such as a "get directions" option and a pagination, making it easy to navigate and discover heritage treasures
โข Cultural Mapping Elements and Objects: to view the domains inventoried by cultural mappers in Panay, Guimaras and Negros Occidental. Links to cultural mapping forms of all municipalities after consent from the mapping team and SUC is granted is also available here.

Senator Loren B. Legarda, the key supporter of this initiative, emphasized the importance of cultural mapping as a tool for preserving heritage in compliance with the Cultural Mapping Law. By putting together the output of the inventories on the web, it also gives access to the significant cultural heritage and natural heritage of cultural significance to the rest of the world.
The CMPG website is continuously being developed with new features and visuals and is constantly updated with submitted mapped forms from the various provinces and state universities and colleges counterparts, including West Visayas State University, Iloilo Science and Technology University, Iloilo Science University of Fisheries Science and Technology, Capiz State University, University of Antique, Aklan State University, Guimaras State University, and the Department of Education Region VI.
The Website Development Team made up of Mark Reynan Villasana as the website developer, Aodh Joash Alegoro as the project assistant in charge of facilitating the creation of the website with Ms. Anna Razel Ramirez, Kyle Philip Ravena, Wilfredo Palete, Jr., Vanessa Coo, Daniel de la Cruz, Marc Leo Layson, and Prof. Martin Genodepa as consultant has worked diligently to create an accessible and informative platform.
