Prof. Encarnacion Emilia S. Yap, dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas, was appointed to the Technical Panel for Fisheries Education of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

With the positive turnout of the previous in-person University Registrars’ Workshops in June and November 2022 in Baguio City and at the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu, respectively, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) held another workshop, hosted by the Office of the University Registrar (OUR), at the UP Visayas Iloilo City campus on 30-31 January 2023.

To orient faculty members on internationalization opportunities for graduate programs, the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Graduate School, in partnership with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, conducted the Seminar-Workshop on Internationalization of Graduate Programs on 25 January 2023 at the GCEB Training Rooms, UPV Iloilo City Campus.

The UPV Action Research Project (UPV ARP), in collaboration with the Department of Education - Schools Division of Silay City (DepEd – SDO Silay City), conducted an Orientation-Workshop on Assessment Strategies, Innovation and Research Development among Junior High School (JHS) teachers teaching Science, Mathematics, Araling Panlipunan, and Technology and Livelihood Education subjects on 12-13 January 2023 at Natures Village Resort, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The University of the Philippines Visayas appointed Dr. Victor Marco Emmanuel “Noel” N. Ferriols, from the Institute of Aquaculture (IA), College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) as the first Director of the UP Visayas Regional Research Center from November 2022 – November 2023.
