The UP High School in Iloilo Batch ’80 held a class reunion and celebrated the 60th birthday of all its members at the UPV Little Theater on February 3, 2023.
The ceremony began with a mass officiated by Fr. Ronald De Leon. It was attended by UPV officials, employees, and the student scholars of the class who are currently enrolled in the University.
Batch ’80 also presented the fundraising goal of P900,000.00 to fund the solar panel project that will be donated to UP High School in Iloilo and a scholarship fund for the UPV scholars. The batch, with Mr. Jessraf Palmares as president, has raised P650,000.00 so far.
The Solar Project was turned over to UPV Chancellor Clement Camposano and Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Rhodella Ibabao by the Batch ’80 project leader, Mr. Erel Narida, CEO and President of One Renewable Energy, Inc. The project aims to inspire students to advocate more sustainable practices and enable teachers to incorporate renewable energy into their lessons.
Chancellor Camposano expressed his appreciation to the group and emphasized the value of alumni partnerships in UPV's development plans.
In August last year, UPHSI inaugurated a 5 kwp on-grid solar project donated by the UPHSI Batch ’80, in collaboration with the iAmUPHI Alumni Association, Inc. and One Renewable as technical partners.

The batch also honored two of their retired teachers, Prof. Irene Valencia and Prof. Della Ibabao. The two well-loved professors were given a money cake each, cash gifts, and fruit baskets.
