The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development under Prof. Rhodella A. Ibabao and the Performance Management Team concluded their two-day workshop yesterday, 02 March 2023, titled Enhancing the Performance Measures of UP Visayas in Academic, Research, and Extension using the GAA-Performance Indicators for FY 2023 - FY 2024.

The reconstituted members of the UP Visayas (UPV) Crisis Management Committee attended a workshop last 27 Feb. 2023 at the New Admin Bldg. Conference Room, Miagao Campus with the following objectives: review and update the initial Crisis Management Plans, discuss the UPV Crisis Contingency Plan, and do a crisis management training needs assessment.

In celebration of the National Arts Month, the UP Visayas Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (MACH) has mounted a show featuring the sculpture of Boy Masculino.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) and the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST-PHIVOLCS) for a project on experiential knowledge of disasters for improved science communication. 

The UP Visayas Action Research Project (UPV-ARP) team, under the Division of Professional Education and COP-BIDANI, College of Arts and Sciences, joined the pilot implementation of the student segment of the Iloilo City Road Safety and Courtesy Concept Ideation Project, a collaboration between the Iloilo City Government under the auspices of the Office of the Hon. Atty. Sedfrey L. Cabaluna and the University. The activity took place at Iloilo City National High School last 28 Feb. 2023.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) and the Teaching and Learning Resource Center (TLRC) conducted a seminar-workshop on the institution of minor programs on 21-22 February 2023 at the College of Management Building, UPV Iloilo City Campus, synchronously via Zoom for the participants of UPV Tacloban College.

The Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts (OICA) received a painting donation from Antiqueño Alex Moscoso Española on 21 Feb. 2023. 

An official of Kochi University in Japan visited the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Miagao campus on 23 February 2023 to discuss plans and possible partnerships. 

“Pina Futures: Weaving Memories and Innovations" by Randy M. Madrid, PhD was formally launched on February 28, 2023 at the Far Eastern University, Sampaloc, Manila in time for the end of the Arts Month.
