Kochi University grad program head visits UPV

An official of Kochi University in Japan visited the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Miagao campus on 23 February 2023 to discuss plans and possible partnerships. 

Dr. Satoshi Kubota, head of the Kuroshio Science Graduate Program of Kochi University, met with Dr. Hanny John Mediodia, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs – International Linkages; Dr. Liah Catedrilla, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences representative; Asst. Prof. Ma. Ramela Angela Bermeo, BS Biology representative; and Dr. Wilfredo Campos, a faculty member from the Division of Biological Sciences. 

Catedrilla and Bermeo presented their revised program offerings during the implementation of the K-12 curriculum, adjustments made during the transition period, and feedback on student performance under this scheme. 

Kubota’s visit is part of a project of Kochi University which aims to strengthen future academic exchange with their institutional partners. Kubota also made several visits to their partner university in the country to seek and identify means of bringing the curriculum program offerings in the Philippines closer to their own graduate programs.
