A study by Kenneth W. Thomas and Warren H. Schmidt revealed that managers spend 20% of their time dealing with conflict within the organization. Seeing the importance of conflict management as a vital skill among administrators in an educational institution, the Western Institute of Technology (WIT) invited Ms. Gerthrode Charlotte Tan-Mabilog, a faculty member of UP High School in Iloilo, Division of Professional Education, College of Arts and Sciences, University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) to enhance the skills of its leaders. 

The Office of Student Affairs, University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV-OSA) has helped prepare the incoming college students for their life on campus as “Iskolar ng Bayan.”

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) participated in a Small Group Discussion on aquaculture on July 30, 2024 at Citadines Amigo, Iloilo City.

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) on-the-job training  (OJT) program provided fresh knowledge and skills to BS Fisheries students from two state universities and colleges (SUCs) from Mindanao.

Faculty and REPS of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) participated in the consultation sessions on establishing research groups and creative studios at the department level. Two sessions were held, one in the Miagao campus and the other at the Iloilo City campus on July 30 and 31, respectively.

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Barotac Viejo Campus held its AY 2024-2025 In-Service Training for Faculty and Staff at the Sea Garden Resort in Leganes, Iloilo, on August 2, 2024, attributing to the crucial importance of educational transformation. 

A call for gender inclusivity resonated with over 130 faculty and staff members at West Visayas State University - Janiuay Campus as Assistant Professor Early Sol A. Gadong of UP High School in Iloilo (UPSHI) delivered a powerful talk on “Transcending Gender Binary in the Workplace” during the 11th Faculty and Staff Institute last July 31, 2024.

Dr. Junemie Hazel Lebata–Ramos, a BS Biology 1992 and MS Fisheries 1999 alumna of the University of the Philippine Visayas (UPV), was named Most Outstanding Professional of the Year in the Field of Fisheries by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). She received her award at the Conrad Manila, Pasay City, Manila on August 2, 2024.
