The University of the Philippines Visayas-School of Technology (UPV-SOTECH) Chemical Engineering Quiz Bee Team successfully grabbed the third (3rd) place at the APCChE National Chemical Engineering Quiz Bowl held at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Manila on September 4, 2023. After a rough start during the first round, the team gained momentum and made a comeback by scoring successive points and overtaking 11 other competing universities.

The UPV College of Arts and Sciences Division of Professional Education conducted a lecture forum on "Citizenship and Civic Education in the Philippines: Links and Possibilities,” held at the Little Theater, UP Visayas, Iloilo City, on 22 August 2023.

Faculty members of the University of the Philippines Visayas bravely entered the four corners of the screen as they uncover the process of video production during the Workshop for Designing and Developing TeLeMETRICS, a shorthand for “Teaching and Learning Materials for Education, Tutorial, Research, Instruction, and Classroom Support,” organized by the Teaching and Learning Resource Center in collaboration with the Division of Humanities on July 24-28, 2023.

The administration of the University of the Philippines Visayas continuously creates projects to address the needs of the university with regard to land use and development of infrastructure.

A contingent of 18 UP Visayas personnel took part in the 2023 UP Systemwide Administrative Staff and Research Extension and Professional Staff Conference on September 7-9, 2023 at the Development Academy of the Philippines, Tagaytay City.

Three veteran Visayan artists from three islands of the Visayas are currently exhibiting their works in a show titled Pikas sa Usa ka Dagat at the UPV Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (MACH) West Wing Lobby.
