Featuring this year’s key findings from Asian Development Bank’s statistical flagship publication, “Key Indicators for Asia and the Pacific,” the Division of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM) from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) held a webinar last December 2, 2022, via Zoom at 9:30 in the morning.

The Cultural Mapping of Antique Project turned over a set of the project outputs in a compendium or set of books to UP Visayas through the Center for West Visayan Studies (CWVS). Dubbed Dunâ, Kinaíya kag Paranúblìon: A Cultural Registry of the Province of Antique, the books were received by UPV on December 9, 2022, in an intimate ceremony at the Performance Hall of the UPV Museum of Art and Culture Heritage.

Tuna Jerky developer and founder of Roselient Foods Manufacturing, Ms. Rose T. Mueda, signed a Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA) with the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) at the ceremonial signing segment, Sealing the Future, of Agham + Sining: UP Innovation and Knowledge Festival 2022 last Nov 28, 2022, at the UP Bonifacio Global City (BGC) campus.

The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) facilitated the online and in-person training on Student Academic Information System (SAIS) for University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) personnel. The College Secretaries and their staff, division/department/institute personnel involved in the enrollment, and the OUR and NSTP staff participated in the training that lasted for more than a week.

The Philippine Genome Center Visayas launched its Bioinformatics Laboratory via Zoom last November 29, 2022. Eighty-eight institutions/ companies were represented during the program. Researchers and staff from PGC Diliman, PGC Mindanao, and UP Visayas also attended the online launch.
