Environmental and spatial mapping have been trends in recent years, finding utmost importance in disaster management, land use research, and even in environmental research and oceanography. Thus, the Teaching and Learning Resource Center (TLRC) of UP Visayas found it fit to conduct a webinar aptly named, “What’s the GIS: An Introductory Webinar on Geographic Information System,” on January 22, 2022. It sought to give an overview of GIS and how to utilize it in research and other work using software application.

The University of the Philippines Visayas, through its Gender and Development Program (GDP), together with Ugsad Regional Gender Resource Network, successfully celebrated the 2022 National Women’s Month last March. The lineup of activities revolved around the 2017-2022 theme, “We Make CHANGE Work for Women,” with this year’s sub-theme, “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran.”
