The UP Visayas Ugnayan ng Pahinungod and Sadaan Elementary School in Midsayap, North Cotabato, held an online webinar on March 30, 2022, through a Zoom platform. Faculty members from the UPV Division of Professional Education served as resource persons. Prof. Lovella S. Divinagracia spoke on “Recalibrating Pedagogical Approaches in Preparation in Face-to-Face Instructions,” and Prof. Pepito R. Fernandez, Jr. spoke on “Interventions for Bridging Learning Gaps and Intensifying Learning Gains”.

The outcome of nurturing research culture through partnership and collaboration will affect the future of producing knowledge in the basic education sector in the country, UP Visayas Chancellor Clement Camposano emphasized during the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) and partner Department of Education – Schools Division of Iloilo City (DepEd SDO-Iloilo City).

Grand Gascon, a 4th-year Chemical Engineering student from the School of Technology, University of the Philippines Visayas, was the only Filipino selected to be one of the top 10 and 2 wildcard finalists of the Bayer’s Youth Agriculture Summit. The event started six months ago and concluded on March 24, 2022.

March 21, 2022, marked a momentous event when UP Visayas and Rare Philippines, Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate and collaborate in exploring ways to conceptualize, co-design, initiate, deliver, and pilot-test services, projects, programs, campaigns, studies, researches, proposals, and policy initiatives toward building resilient and sustainable coastal communities and coastal ecosystems, using resources in their respective organizations. Both Rare Philippines, Inc. and UP Visayas will endeavor to achieve the objectives and deliverables within a period of up to 3 years.
