Two of a series of documentaries on the intangible cultural heritage of Panay island premiered at the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Cinematheque, Iloilo City campus during the Maáram, Isla ng Panay launching on Feb. 22.
The UP Visayas College of Arts and Sciences culminated its CAS Week celebration with an Alumni Night, which highlighted the homecoming of its alumni after 20 years. The event also recognized the awardees for outstanding performance and launched the coffee table book titled “Reflections: The CAS Diamond Book,” edited by CAS Dean, Dr. Alice Joan G. Ferrer.
Representatives of various indigenous communities from different parts of the country expressed their deep gratitude to the organizers of the three-day 2023 Conference-Workshop on Indigenous Languages and the Sustainable Development Goals, which concluded last 23 Feb. 2023. The theme of the conference was “Carrying Out the Global Action Plan and the 2023 Agenda."
The University of the Philippines Visayas joined five other major research institutions in creating a network of laboratories in Western Visayas. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was inked between DOST VI, UPV, and five other major research institutions last February 16, 2023 at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.
