Philippine Genome Center Visayas to take part in Filipino Genomes Research Program, study to impact anthropology, forensics, and evolution

The UniversIty of the Philippines Visayas through Philippine Genome Center Visayas is collaborating with the DNA Analysis Laboratory of the Natural Sciences Research Institute, University of the Philippines Diliman for the Filipino Genomes Research Program (FGRP): Representing the Underrepresented, a study funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development.

Parcon, Division of Humanities, CAS signed the Pledge of Commitment during the launch of Project Kasing-kasing, Healthy Hearts Programme on June 20, 2023 at the Old Capitol Building in San Jose, Antique.

UP Visayas spearheads rapid assessment of impacted areas by the MT Princess Empress oil spill

The UP Visayas Oil Spill Response Program, under the leadership of Dr. Resurreccion B. Sadaba, organized a team of scientists, researchers, and field assistants to conduct a rapid assessment of impact areas affected by the MT Princess Empress oil spill in Semirara, Caluya, and Mindoro Oriental. The project, which will run for three months starting last June 15, is a collaborative effort between UPV, Mindoro State University (MSU), and selected government units from the provinces of Oriental Mindoro and Antique.

In celebration of the University of the Philippines’ 115th Foundation Day Anniversary, the UPV Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (MACH) launched the Ginhúptan Collectors Series initially featuring the art collection of Chancellor Dionisia A. Rola, which she donated to the University.

UPV Graduate School hosts dialogue for academe, industry, and government on new curricular offering 

The UPV Graduate School organized a Academe-Industry-Government Dialogue at the Training Rooms, 2ndFloor, GCEB, UPV Iloilo City Campus on June 19, 2023.  The purpose of the dialogue is to obtain industry and government input on the design and development of a graduate program, as well as their support to ensure the sustainability of the degree program.
