Representatives of various indigenous communities from different parts of the country expressed their deep gratitude to the organizers of the three-day 2023 Conference-Workshop on Indigenous Languages and the Sustainable Development Goals, which concluded last 23 Feb. 2023. The theme of the conference was “Carrying Out the Global Action Plan and the 2023 Agenda."
The University of the Philippines Visayas joined five other major research institutions in creating a network of laboratories in Western Visayas. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was inked between DOST VI, UPV, and five other major research institutions last February 16, 2023 at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.
A superb performance of the UP High School in Iloilo students through gongs and voice performances were showcased last February 21, 2023 at the 2023 Conference-Workshop on Indigenous Languages and Sustainable Development Goals organized by Talaytayan Multilingual Education, Tebtebba Foundation, ABC Plus, and hosted by UP Visayas. The concert also featured the Panay Bukidnons, as they showcased their traditional dance and oral narratives.
The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) facilitated a press conference with the local media in Iloilo to disseminate information on Indigenous Languages and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), held at the Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts (OICA) Conference Room, UPV Iloilo City campus, on Feb. 21.
