The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) will hold limited face-to-face classes for all its programs this Second Semester of Academic Year 2021-2022 following the authority granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and approval of the Local Government Unit of Miagao, Iloilo.
In May last year, UP Visayas created the UPV Technical Working Group for Iloilo City and Miagao campuses through AO 2021-185 to formulate the Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plans (LUDIP) for both its campuses in Miagao and Iloilo City. Since then, the team began the tedious and circuitous process of accomplishing its task.
The Philippine Genome Center Visayas (PGC Visayas), in coordination with Western Visayas Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (WVMC-SNL) and the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) of the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development, successfully sequences its first samples for SARS-CoV-2 biosurveillance using Next Generation Sequencing technology.
