UPV presents land use plans to UPV stakeholders

UPV presents land use plans to UPV stakeholders

In May last year, UP Visayas created the UPV Technical Working Group for Iloilo City and Miagao campuses through AO 2021-185 to formulate the Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plans (LUDIP) for both its campuses in Miagao and Iloilo City. Since then, the team began the tedious and circuitous process of accomplishing its task.

The LUDIP Act or RA 11396 requires all SUCs to prepare and implement a LUDIP with IRR 11396 based on CHED memo No 11, series of 2020. The coverage of the IRR included properties and all land assets of the SUCs, whether titled, untitled or those having conflict on ownership. Properties refer to land assets, buildings, infrastructure, and other valuable properties.

On February 18, the TWG presented their land use plans to UPV stakeholders, particularly to the deans of the university’s degree-granting units. The plans reflect their alignment to higher-level plans and the strategic direction of Chancellor Camposano.

The presentation included preliminary results and analysis of the existing conditions of UPV’s properties and land assets. In addition, proposed actions, to include allocation and distribution of land uses and facilities, were also discussed. (With sources from OVCPD)
