Faculty members, research, extension, and professional staff (REPS), and administrative staff of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) convened for a two-day year-end review and strategic planning workshop on February 3 to 4, 2022 via Zoom.
CFOS Dean Prof. Encarnacion Emilia S. Yap led the virtual gathering that discussed and assessed the status of the implementation of the College’s plans developed during last year’s planning workshop.
“It shall give us an opportunity to retrofit (if necessary) our plans, based on the present scenario and the most likely scenario in the months (and years) to come,” Yap stated in her memorandum.
The participants, divided into different committees, presented the College’s accomplishments, and developed action plans for efficient and effective implementation of its goals and objectives based on the current and possible future scenarios.
Asst. Prof. Angel Queenee D. Dequito presented the accomplishments and the short-term (1-2 years), medium-term (2-5 years), and long-term (> 5 years) plans of the College particularly for instruction, Asst. Prof. Lhumen A. Tejano for research, Asst. Prof. Jerry Ian L. Leonida for public service, Asst. Prof. Iris Ann G. Borlongan for quality assurance and internationalization, Ms. Josie Lou L. Chan for student concerns, Assoc. Prof. Caridad N. Jimenez for alumni concerns, Asst. Prof. Farisal U. Bagsit for the general welfare and administrative matters, Asst. Prof. Jessica Dato-Bercilla for disaster risk and management, and Assoc. Prof. Victor Marco Emmanuel N. Ferriols for infrastructure, procurement, and other related concerns.
Last year, UPV-CFOS conducted strategic planning incorporating the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in setting its goals and programs, which are anchored in the College’s vision, mission, and core values.
