CM finishes strong in the December 2024 CPA Licensure Exam

The College of Management, University of the Philippine Visayas, has once again affirmed its commitment to excellence as it produced a total of 40 new Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in the recently concluded December 2024 Licensure Examination for CPAs. CM's first-time takers achieved a 94.87% passing rate, while the overall performance of graduates was 90.91%.

The LECPA was administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on December 6, 7, and 8, 20234, across various testing centers throughout the country.

The PRC announced that 10,136 aspirants took the examination, while only 3,058 made it to the cut, recording a national passing percentage of 30.17%. The LECPA comprises six subjects: Auditing, Management Advisory Services, Taxation, Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions, Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting. 

The results were released six working days after the exam's conclusion.

Other UP campuses likewise did exceptionally well in the December 2024 LECPA, with UP Diliman scoring 98.04% and UP Tacloban with an 80.77% passing rate.

Data from the PRC reveals that the LECPA remains one of the toughest licensure examinations in terms of passing percentage, with a national average of only about 26% from 2021 to the present.
