The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) forged a partnership with the Iloilo Provincial Government through the Provincial Planning and Development Office on 15 August 2024 at Casa Real, Iloilo City to strengthen research and cooperation towards achieving the development goals of the province.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Graduate School, in coordination with all UPV colleges, organized a public forum on sustainable development, social equity, and policy toward a blue economy at the Little Theater, UP Visayas, Iloilo City, on August 20, 2024. The event was in collaboration with the Institute of Contemporary Economics (ICE).

The Philippine League Against Epilepsy, Inc. (PLAE) is partnering with the UPV College of Management, University of the Philippines Visayas in celebration of the 23rd National Epilepsy Awareness Week this September 1-4, 2024 with the theme "One Nation for Epilepsy." This event is also in partnership with the Iloilo Provincial Government, Iloilo City Government, Western Visayas Medical Center, WVMC Department of Neurosciences, IGAP PH, and UPV Marketing Society, Inc. as the official marketing arm of O.N.E. for Juan Project.

Cosette Vargas Canilao, an alumna of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) and the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Aboitiz InfraCapital, addressed the jubilarians during the Faculty and Alumni Homecoming organized by the UP Alumni Association Iloilo Chapter held at the Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City on August 18, 2024.

With the theme "Handum kag Pagtinguha: 59 years of continued determination and commitment in the service of the fisheries sector," the University of the Philippines Ichthyophilic Society (UPIS) marked its 59th founding anniversary through a week-long celebration on August 19-23, 2024.

Asst. Prof. Joven S. Llabore, a faculty member of UP High School in Iloilo, Division of Professional Education, College of Arts and Sciences spearheaded two impactful teacher training sessions held at Salem Christian Life Center on June 22 and August 23, 2024. The training aimed to equip educators with innovative teaching strategies and enhance their classroom management and storytelling skills.

LUNTIAN at PULA - GREENING it with Maroon Pride, the UP Visayas takes a step closer towards promoting green energy through the installation of a 54kW Grid-Tie Solar Energy System at the UPV Regional Research Center (RRC) Building. This initiative is the largest and the first in UP Visayas, which supports the full-time operations of the various research facilities of the RRC Building, including the Regional Research Center (RRC), Philippine Genome Center (PGC) Visayas, Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO), and the Socio-economic Research and Data Analytics Center (SERDAC) Satellite Facility. This solar energy system is funded by the 2023 General Appropriations Act with an approved budget of P3 Million Pesos, the project is set to be operational by the end of August 2024.
