Physical Education professor from the College of Arts and Sciences, UP Visayas, Professor Fernando S. Tinagan, has participated and has proven to excel in various arnis e-tournaments as a player-coach.

To expand and hasten Iloilo City’s vaccination rollout, the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) has been tapped to serve as one of the five vaccination sites along with Ateneo de Iloilo, Central Philippine University (CPU), Iloilo Convention Center (ICC), and the University of San Agustin (USA).

The Grade 12 HUMSS of UP High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) exhibited their research and literary outputs developed for the past two years of their senior high school stint through a fiesta-themed event conducted via Zoom and Facebook Live last 22 and 23rd of June 2021.

After two school years of diving into the depths of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand, Grade 12-STEM students of the University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) showcased their research studies in a two-day webinar symposium entitled “Beyond Eureka Moments” last June 15–16, 2021.

The Cultural Mapping of Antique Project (CMAP), which the University of the Philippines Visayas implements, conducted a Conference and Disclosure Meeting and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing with four indigenous communities in the province of Antique and the National Commission of Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).

The Center for West Visayan Studies of College of Arts and Sciences organized the Youth Conference on Culture, Arts, and Heritage (YouthCCAH) 2021 in May with the theme: “West Visayan Youth as Stewards of Heritage”. The online conference aimed to encourage the youth in Western Visayas and the other regions to participate and be inspired by the various initiatives of their fellow youth in heritage preservation and promotion.
