Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda initiated P67M funding support for cultural heritage projects, impact evaluation research, and a building rehabilitation project, all appropriated in the 2023 GAA for the University of the Philippines Visayas.

UP Visayas (UPV) put a smile on the faces of calamity-affected families from the coastal barangays of the Municipality of Miagao during the launching of “PasKOOPerasyon,” a collaborative Christmas gift-giving program, held last December 17, 2022 at the new administration building ground, UPV Miagao campus.

Dr. Johannes Magpusao of the School of Technology, University of the Philippines Visayas, actively participated in the 21st IUFoST World Congress of Food Science and Technology held in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. She gave an oral presentation of part of her Ph.D. research titled ”Impact of mechanical processing on rheological and compositional properties of microalgal suspensions.”

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) turned over training packs for sediment quality monitoring in marine fish farms to local government units (LGUs) in Panay.

As the Teaching and Learning Resource Center continues to strive to strengthen the skills of students enrolled in the different courses of UP Visayas (UPV), the office deemed it fitting to collaborate with the Mathematics Cluster of the Division of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM) to organize a supplemental learning program for students enrolled in the different courses.
