Remaining steadfast in providing committed service for 58 years, the University of the Philippines Ichthyophilic Society (UPIS), in line with its anniversary celebration, organized an Outreach Program and Clean-up Drive at the coastal community of Brgy. Alegre, Oton, Iloilo on August 21, 2023. Grocery packages of rice, canned goods, coffee, milk, noodles, shampoo, soap, and toothpaste were given to 25 beneficiaries.

In celebration of History Month, the Center for West Visayan Studies (CWVS) held the highly-anticipated lecture of Dr. Karl Ian Uy Cheng Chua titled “The Afterlives of Art: Problematising the Anti-War Message,” last 30th of August at the office of the CWVS, in the UPV Main Building, Iloilo City.

Vice-Chancellor for Administration John Lorenz R. Belanio, in collaboration with the Human Resources Development Office (HRDO) and the Digital Innovation Center (Visayas), organized a series of in-person training workshops on Alternative Video Conferencing Tools at UPV Miagao and Iloilo City Campuses. This is in preparation for the shift of UP to other alternative tools for online meetings and events in case Zoom will not renew its contract. The workshop series was conducted every Wednesday (August 2, 9, 16, and 23).
