This year’s homecoming saw hundreds of alumni returning home to their beloved University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) despite the rain and drizzle throughout the 3-day celebration. The campus was adorned with UP colors for the homecoming celebrated from August 23-25, 2019.

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP Visayas is working towards the accreditation of its academic program by the ASEAN University Network (AUN).
One thousand two hundred thirteen first year students gained admission in the University of the Philippines Visayas for the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2019-2020. They were formally welcomed into the university’s fold during the Opening Exercises on August 5, 2019 at the Covered Court in the main campus in Miagao.
Two graduate students of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) UP Visayas (UPV) are currently participating in the 2019 Summer Session of Kagoshima University (KU) in Kagoshima, Japan from August 17-September 25, 2019.
