The University of the Philippines Visayas has a total of seven new and re-appointed UP scientists.
Official notice from the UP Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs showed that Dr. Sharon Nuñal, director of the Institute of Fish Processing Technology (IFPT), College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, and retired Prof. Jose Peralta, also from IFPT, have been appointed as new UP scientists.
The document also revealed the re-appointment of five UP scientists from UPV.
They are Dr. Alice Joan Ferrer, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS); Dr. Wilfredo Campos, chairperson of the Division of Biological Sciences, CAS; Dr. Rosalie Arcala-Hall and Prof. Rodelio Subade from the Division of Social Sciences, CAS; and Dr. Ricardo Babaran of the Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanology, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences.
The appointment and re-appointment of these UP scientists is for the period 2020-2022.
The year-long screening process culminated in the approval by the Board of Regents last November 4, 2021.
