Young Filipino Scientist wins the 2019 Huie Dellmon Trust Endowed Professorship in Science

Dr. Gerard Dumancas, UPV-DOST Balik Scientist and UP Visiting Professor, bagged the 2019 Huie Dellmon Trust Endowed Professorship in Science at Louisiana State University - Alexandria (LSUA), USA.

The Endowed Professorship program is a major effort by LSUA, the community, the LSUA Foundation, the LSU Board of Supervisors, and the Louisiana Board of Regents to demonstrate commitment to quality of instruction by recognizing and fostering faculty excellence. Through this program, outstanding faculty will be provided with a salary supplement and increased opportunities for professional development, usually for two years. The awarding was held on March 19 during the annual Employee Recognition Dinner at LSUA, USA.

Dr. Dumancas has been employed at LSUA since August 2016 as Assistant Professor and has recently been awarded tenure and promotion to Associate Professor. As DOST-Balik Scientist and Visiting Professor in UPV, he is working on the project entitled "Strengthening the Analytical Chemistry Curriculum at UPV by Introducing Chemometrics.” (With sources from Dr. Gerard Dumancas)
