The University of the Philippines Visayas Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (UPV TTBDO) will host the “Idea to Impact Investors Forum: Mussel Industry 2022” in Tacloban City on Oct. 14.
The Idea to Impact Investors Forum is a technology transfer initiative program developed by the UPV TTBDO.
The said forum will connect relevant industries, government bodies, private sectors, and fishery associations to the innovative mussel-related technologies of the University through technology pitches, thought provoking discussions, and networking.
Two researcher-faculty members from UPV will provide technology pitches at the forum.
Dr. Sharon Nuñal of the Institute of Fish Processing Technology, UPV College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences will talk about two topics -- Mussel Powder and Mussel Capsule and Lipid Softgel.
Meanwhile, Dr. Leni Yap-Dejeto of the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, UPV Tacloban College, will present the Mussel Glycogen Extract in Cosmetic Products.
In addition to these pitches, the event will also have an open forum to encourage a dialogue of concerned parties and a press conference with the media to reach a broader audience.
Participants from the public and private sector will join the forum.
