The six UPV professors are Prof. Ferdinand Jarin and Ms. Faye Fuentes, from the Division of Humanities, and Prof. Ronela Jundos, Prof. Hermie Cartagena, Ms. Jelyn Geraldoy, and Dr. John Barrios, from the Division of Professional Education. The seven UPHSI students, who came from 12-HUMSS, are Toni Maxinne Advincula, Hannamae Aling, Athena Calonia, Krisna Ellah Clarito, Althea Marie Francisco, Lizette Abigail Jundes, and Marielle Soloveres.

Prof. Jarin presented a paper on literature titled, “Ang Paglalandas ni Leoncio P. Deriada: Pakikipanayam Sa Apat na Manlilikha Ukol sa Pagpapauswag ni Deriada sa Panitikan ng Kanlurang Bisaya bilang Panitikan ng Banwa at Bansa,” that discusses the life of Leoncio P. Ms. Geraldoy and Dr. Barrios also read a paper on literature titled, “Imahe ng Pinuno ayon sa Leksikon ng Pagdumala: Si Salagunting bilang Timawa sa Nobelang Margosatubig ni Ramon Muzones,” that sheds light on the characteristics of Munzones’ ‘timawa’ and how these traits are reflective in the country's politicians like Sen. Rodolfo Ganzon. Ms. Fuentes touched on the changes in Miag-ao’s culture, particularly its hablon industry in her paper titled, “Ang Paghahambing sa Tradisyunal at Kasalukuyang Paraan ng Pagpoproseso ng Bulak sa Miag-ao, Iloilo” which was presented through online means.

Ms. Geraldoy and Dr. Barrios also read a paper on literature titled, “Imahe ng Pinuno ayon sa Leksikon ng Pagdumala: Si Salagunting bilang Timawa sa Nobelang Margosatubig ni Ramon Muzones.” The paper sheds light on the characteristics of Munzones’ ‘timawa’ and how these traits are reflective in the country's politicians like Sen. Rodolfo Ganzon.

Jundos and Cartagena, on the other hand, presented papers that tackle children’s experiences. Jundos’ paper delves into how primary school learners coped with the challenges of having to undergo the sudden change of learning modalities at the height of the pandemic in her paper, “Exploring Learner’s Agency: The Lived Experiences of Primary School Learners during the COVID-19 Pandemic.” Meanwhile, Cartagena’s paper tackles how music, movement, and play activities could be of great help when integrated into daily learning in a classroom setting in his paper, “Local Music, Movement, and Play Activities in Developing Musical Sensitivity and Creativity among Ilonggo Children.”

The seven students presented their paper titled, “Migration Propensity: UPHSI Students’ Attitude Towards External Migration,” that tackles the salient issue of the brain drain phenomenon and looks into the perceptions of Grade 12 UPHSI students on the possibility of migrating to other countries and the various factors that contribute to it. Jundos mentored the students as their research adviser.

The conference was organized by the Dalubhasaan ng mga Umuusbong na Mag-aaral ng Araling Filipino (DANUM) of the College of Liberal Arts of De La Salle University, Manila in cooperation with Silliman University.
