UP Visayas is one of the partners of the Iloilo City government in implementing USAID Opportunity 2.0 Program: Second Chance Opportunity for Out of School Youth. The program gives opportunities for out of school youth's (OSY) further education, training for employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Prof. Pepito R. Fernandez, Jr., Chair of the Division of Professional Education, College of Arts & Sciences, represented UP Visayas during the USAID’s Higher Education Learning Summit dubbed, “Higher Education Institutions: Partners in Out of School Youth Development." The event was held at Quezon city on May 30-31, 2023.
The Summit gathered 200 delegates from various higher education institutions from 15 cities to provide a spotlight on the role of colleges, universities, and other academic institutions in helping resolve challenges in OSY advancement and development.
