What started as a weeklong celebration for the UP Visayas and the Miagao LGU dubbed as Friendship Week, which started on August 1, 2023, ended with a high note during the closing program in the afternoon of August 4, 2023.
A fun-filled bingo socials started the ball rolling participated by employees of both institutions made more fun with cash prizes and multiple winners. Overall, there were 20 winners of P300.00 each, 12 winners of P500 each, 6 winners of P1,000 each, and 2 winners P2,000 each.
Hon. Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr., Mayor of Miagao, gave words of welcome, whereas, UPV Chancellor, Dr. Clement C. Camposano, who is on official travel, gave a recorded message.
One highlight of the closing program was the awarding of winners for the contests during the Eco-trail Walk and the Larong Pinoy, which were held in the morning of the same day.
There was also a raffle for cash prizes from the Mayor’s Office. Ten winners won P500 each, 5 winners of P1,000 each, 3 winners of P2,000 each, 3 winners of P3,000 each, and 2 winners of P5,000 each.
Miagao SB Member Japhet Grace Moleta, on behalf of the LGU, and Vice-Chancellor for Administration, John Lorenz Belanio, on behalf of UPV, both thanked the employees from both institutions for their hard work and effort in making the week-long celebration successful one.
