The Miagao campus of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) will serve as an attraction this Christmas season with its display of lights for the UPV community and locals of Miagao and nearby towns.
UPV marked the opening of the Paskua 2023 with the Christmas Lights Illumination Ceremony held at the College of Management (CM) grounds on Dec. 5.
The entrance of the Miagao campus, the CM grounds, the path leading to the Central Administration Building, and the said building itself are filled with colorful lights to give a more festive feel to the campus.
The UPV community, guests from local academic institutions, and representatives of some barangays flocked to the CM grounds to attend the illumination ceremony and witness the opening of the University’s annual Christmas lights display.
Chancellor Clement Camposano, Vice Chancellor for Administration John Lorenz Belanio, College of Arts and Sciences Assoc. Dean Nilo Araneta, and Prof. Agustin Huyong, Paskua 2023 co-chair, led the opening of the Christmas lights display.
A similar program is slated to take place on Dec. 7 at the University Oblation Avenue, Iloilo City campus. The illumination of the two campuses is part of the series of activities for Paskua, the annual Christmas celebration of UPV.
The Campus Development and Maintenance Office (CDMO) is in-charge of the Christmas lights display.
