The All-UP Workers Union (AUPWU) Iloilo Chapter organized a tribute to honor the exemplary service of former UP Visayas Vice Chancellor for Administration, and former UP Vice President for Administration Prof. Nestor G. Yunque last 01 December 2023 at the New Administration Building Conference Room.
Prof. Yunque served as Vice Chancellor for Administration of UP Visayas from 2011 to 2016 and was appointed as Vice President for Administration of the whole UP System in 2017. He played an active role in advocating for the rights and well-being of the administrative staff by making representations for them in the higher management and was instrumental in bringing about tangible improvements concerning the benefits of the administrative personnel. Through his tireless efforts, he ensured that the concerns and needs of the administrative staff were heard and addressed, leaving a lasting and positive impact on the lives of the personnel.
Known for fostering authentic connections with administrative personnel, Prof. Yunque's managerial approach involves engaging in frequent conversations with the employees to understand their concerns. This style of management has cultivated a lasting bond between Prof. Yunque and the administrative staff, a connection that remains strong even following his retirement from the University.
The activity was attended by the AUPWU Iloilo Chapter Officers, URCs, Cash Office Chief Ms. Maureen Kaye Ongo, and SPSO Chief. Ms. Emeliza Lozada, and the OVCA staff. Their presence attests to the shared gratitude for Prof. Yunque's significant impact on the lives of UPV personnel and the University at large.
