UPV holds first procurement conference

UPV holds first procurement conference

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) held the UPV Procurement Conference 2025, a first of its kind, on Feb. 28, 2025, at the UPV Auditorium, Iloilo City campus. 

Among the topics discussed during the said conference were the Government Procurement Reform Act or Republic Act (RA) 9184 and the New Government Procurement Act or RA 12009.

Members of the UPV Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), the BAC Secretariat, and Supply and Property Services Office staff gave presentations on the said topics. 

UP Procurement Office Director Atty. Flor Rissa L. Ofilada was the keynote speaker of the program, where she talked about working as a team to achieve procurement excellence. This includes procurement actors that are outside of the organization. 

Atty. Ofilada, along with members of the UPV BAC, answered questions during the open forums. The panel included Supply and Property Services Office Acting Chief Dr. Cherry Añasco; Budget Office Chief Ms. Arlene Avanceña; Cash Office Chief Ms. Maureen Kay Ongo; Dr. Mary Rose Rebueno, and College of Management Dean Prof. Christopher Honorario.
