A total of P48,303,268.00 has been allocated in the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA) for the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Antique Extension Campus in Antique.
Under the facilitation of Sen. Loren Legarda and Congressman Antonio AA Legarda, the following funds have been allocated for the additional developments needed in the newly opened campus:
- Operations and Personnel: P12,303,268.00 (Salary for personnel to be assigned in the campus, supplies, etc.)
- Capital Outlay (Phase 2): P30,000,000 (Completion of the UPV Antique Extension Building)
- Coaster: P6,000,000 (To shuttle UPV personnel between Miagao and Pandan)
This new development will provide opportunities for students and nearby communities to avail of UPV’s extension programs and trainings soon.
The UPV Antique Extension Campus located in Barangay Nauring, Pandan, Antique formally opened last August 25, 2023. It is located on the lot donated by the Bautista Family of Pandan. (With sources from the Office of Cong. Antonio AA Legarda)
