Several alumni of the UP High School in Iloilo met with UPV Chancellor Clement C. Camposano on March 30, 2023 to support the Adopt-a-Room project of the University.
The Class of 1966 and Class of 1997 will help in the refurbishment of the Food Lab of the Senior High School building. Dr. Diana Edna Corda and Ms. Dorothea Arboleda represented the Class of 1966, while Ms. Luanne Lei Ramos represented the Class of 1997.
The Class of 1972, represented by Ms. Melanie Villareal Dy, will refurbish a room at the Senior High building. The Class of 1993, represented by Ms. Aulynn Yue Sin and Engr. Alexander Aquio, will adopt a room at the old high school building. The Class of 1991, represented by Mr. Michael Francis Villa, will refurbish the Music Room in the Senior High School building.
The Class of 1983 and this year’s jubilarians, represented by Dr. Philip Ian Padilla and Ms. Marnie Manalac, signed a letter of intent on April 3, 2023. Their class will refurbish and repair a room in an existing high school building.
The events with the alumni were attended by the officials and staff from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development, UP Visayas Foundation, Inc, and the UP High School in Iloilo.
The Adopt-A-Room is an ongoing project under the Office of the Chancellor that was launched in November 2022. The project invites alumni and other potential donors of the University to adopt rooms in new and existing buildings that need urgent refurbishment and renovation.
