The ongoing pandemic did not deter the organizers of the UP Iloilo Alumni Homecoming from conducting the event that kicked off with a virtual motorcade and tour on August 27, 2021.
Via Facebook Live, the tour started from the Oblation Plaza of the UP Visayas Iloilo City. It went out to Delgado, turning to Infante, Gen. Luna, and Jalandoni streets before circling back to Delgado St and ending at the Oblation Plaza.
A virtual opening program followed the day-filled event that featured film treats, cooking contests, and online performances from various alumni groups.
The celebration continued the next day, August 28, with a virtual fun run, online performances by the Goldies (alumni of the UP High School Iloilo), a virtual tour of the UPV Miagao campus, a tribute lunch for retired faculty, staff and alumni, and the alumni Zoomcoming capped the two-day event.
