A total of 16 artworks from three local artists were donated to the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Art Gallery through the signing of the deed of donation on December 6, 2021.
UPV Chancellor, Dr. Clement Camposano, signed the deed of donation and accepted the artworks of Ilonggo artists Edward Defensor and Crispin Emmanuel Acedera, and Leo Gali from Capiz.
Of the 16 artworks, Defensor donated 14, while Gali and Acedera each donated one.
The artworks were turned over by the UPV Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts (OICA).
Prof. Martin Genodepa, OICA director, served as witness to Camposano’s signing of the deed of donation.
The artists were unable to be present during the signing but had already affixed their signature on the documents prior.
The signing coincides with the celebration of the Iloilo Arts Festival 2021 this December.
