Ferriols receives DOST-6 2024 Idlab Awards

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Victor Marco Emmanuel N. Ferriols from the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP Visayas was a recipient of the 2024 Idlab Merit Awards by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Region VI.

Ferriols, a faculty member and director of the Institute of Aquaculture, CFOS, was one of the seven outstanding scientists and innovators in Western Visayas honored for advancing science, technology, and innovation in the region. The awarding ceremony was held at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City on December 5, 2024.

Ferriols was cited for his exemplary and meaningful research and development works in fisheries specifically in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector.

Launched in 2022, the Idlab Awards is DOST-6’s merit and reward system established to recognize outstanding scientists, researchers, engineers, and innovators based in Western Visayas whose outputs in research and development significantly contributed to the socio-economic development in the region.

The awards accepted nominations in the fields of basic research; agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources; industry, energy, and emerging technologies; and health. (With sources from DOST-6 website and FB page)
