Forty eight faculty members from UP Visayas will receive their monetary grants for their professorial chair awards and faculty grant awards starting this month of July 2019.
Named One UP Professorial Chair (PC) Awards and Faculty Grant (FG) Awards, the awards are recognition and incentives to faculty members who demonstrated outstanding performance in two out of three work areas of the faculty: teaching, research or creative work, and public service.
The Professorial Chair is awarded to “highest performing full or associate professors,” while the Faculty Grant “is given to the second tier of performing full, associate and assistant professors.”
Professorial Chair holders will receive P 120,000.00 per year while faculty grantees will receive P96,000.00 per year.
Evaluated through a point system, qualified recipients are awarded based on either of the following categories: 1) Outstanding Teaching & Research, 2) Outstanding Teaching & Creative Work, 3) Outstanding Teaching & Public Service, 4) Outstanding Research & Public Service, or 5) Outstanding Creative Work & Public Service.
